 Intro) Today I would like to talk about country called Iran that causes wars lately, and how Bible says about it.\

 

Body)

First thing you should know is how Iran is called in bible. Iran in the bible called as Elam, Medes, and Persia. People of Medes and Persia shares same ancestor Abraham, and they used to worship fire, and now 98% believe in Islam.

Iran’s first ancestor is named Elam and it is in the bible Gen 10:22. ²² The sons of Shem were Elam, Asshur, Arphaxad, Lud, and Aram. 

 

 

Elam’s generation moved to mountain Ararat and moved to land called today’s Iran. In the bible there is first war recorded on Gen 14:4,5,  ⁴ Twelve years they served Chedorlaomer, and in the thirteenth year they rebelled.

⁵ In the fourteenth year Chedorlaomer and the kings that were with him came and attacked the Rephaim in Ashteroth Karnaim, the Zuzim in Ham, the Emim in Shaveh Kiriathaim, 

 

Sodom and Gomorrah, Abraham’s nephew Rot was taken by Chedorlaomer’s army, so Abraham brought 318 soldiers and invaded them and saved his nephew and belongs.

 

 Chedorlaomer returned to their land and started to expand and merge with Medes and establish Persia kingdom.

 

 

 

 

B) In the bible there are descriptions about people of Elam

Short description is like this, people of Elam use bow and arrow well and brutal and violence towards foreign countries.

 

 

 C) Bible’s prophet about Elam, Cyrus

Cyrus the second in B.C 576 ~ 590 was called as father of founding, he merges Medes kingdom together. Cyrus expanded his area over Afghanistan, India, and killed Babylon’s king and took over Babylon as well. However, when Cyrus took over he was generous towards neither people of Babylon nor Jewish people that have been captured. Later on, Cyrus returns people of Israel to Jerusalem, and supported them to rebuild what has fallen materially.

 

What was the reason that Cyrus was so generous to people of Israel? In fact Isaiah made prophecy of Cyrus 150 years before he was born, which is about he will conquer all the countries and recover church of Jerusalem.

 

 In book of Isaiah 44:28 says, ²⁸ Who says of Cyrus, ‘He is My shepherd,
And he shall perform all My pleasure,
Saying to Jerusalem, “You shall be built,”
And to the temple, “Your foundation shall be laid.”

 

D) Present and future of Elam’s.

Today Elam, Iran settled as a country that facing Israel.

Ezekiel 32:24 says, “There is Elam and all her multitude,
All around her grave,
All of them slain, fallen by the sword,
Who have gone down uncircumcised to the lower parts of the earth,
Who caused their terror in the land of the living;
Now they bear their shame with those who go down to the Pit.

 

Bible says Elams are just people who died fighting in vain, and nothing valuable in them, but today they gained power again from gas. Recent Iran used to be Pro-American country, but US supported Israel that made Iran not liking America. Soon they became pro-Russia and anti-Israel. Why this is happening? It is to fulfill the prophet Ezekiel38 says,

 Now the word of the Lord came to me, saying, ² “Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, ^[a]the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal, and prophesy against him, ³ and say, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Behold, I am against you, O Gog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal. ⁴ I will turn you around, put hooks into your jaws, and lead you out, with all your army, horses, and horsemen, all splendidly clothed, a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords. ⁵ Persia, ^[b]Ethiopia, and ^[c]Libya are with them, all of them with shield and helmet; ⁶ Gomer and all its troops; the house of Togarmah from the far north and all its troops—many people are with you.

⁷ “Prepare yourself and be ready, you and all your companies that are gathered about you; and be a guard for them. ⁸ After many days you will be visited. In the latter years you will come into the land of those brought back from the sword and gathered from many people on the mountains of Israel, which had long been desolate; they were brought out of the nations, and now all of them dwell safely. ⁹ You will ascend, coming like a storm, covering the land like a cloud, you and all your troops and many peoples with you.”

¹⁸ “And it will come to pass at the same time, when Gog comes against the land of Israel,” says the Lord God, “that My fury will show in My face. ¹⁹ For in My jealousy and in the fire of My wrath I have spoken: ‘Surely in that day there shall be a great ^[e]earthquake in the land of Israel, ²⁰ so that the fish of the sea, the birds of the heavens, the beasts of the field, all creeping things that creep on the earth, and all men who are on the face of the earth shall shake at My presence. The mountains shall be thrown down, the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.’ ²¹ I will call for a sword against Gog throughout all My mountains,” says the Lord God. “Every man’s sword will be against his brother. ²² And I will bring him to judgment with pestilence and bloodshed; I will rain down on him, on his troops, and on the many peoples who are with him, flooding rain, great hailstones, fire, and brimstone. ²³ Thus I will magnify Myself and sanctify Myself, and I will be known in the eyes of many nations. Then they shall know that I am the Lord.”

 

This is about pro Russian countries will come together (Turkey, Iran, Russia, Islam countries) that are pro communist, and anti Israel and start a war, why? Because Satan leads them to, however, bible says Israel, after they are independent they will big war, but due to God’s anger they will fall.

 To fulfill this prophet Iran is working hard to collapse. When they start what they are meant to do so, they will fall with their sin. Another prophecy says after this happens many will regret and repent their sins and come back to God.

Rise of history and strong countries and fall…it is all within God’s grasp. Soon we will be ruled by Christ, this is all known fact who read book of Daniel. Finding God who is the master of history is your wisdom and blessing.
