10 Tactics of Satan

⁷ Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

⁸ Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: (1 Peter 5:7-8)

 Christians are attacking by Satan all the time. If we don’t know how they attacking us, it is hard to dodge those attacks. So, today I want to talk about 10 tactics of Satan.
1. Pride

Satan has at least 10 ways to attack and seduce human. one of the most effective methods that he likes to use is pride. Adam and Eve took the forbidden fruit because of their pride that wants to be equal with God and King David did population research that God didn’t want.

In Act chapter 12 verses 23 there was an important event happened. “And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.” Because Herod took the pride that was belongs to God.

In Luke 18 there is prayer of Pharisee and tax collector.

Arrogant Pharisee thinks they are most righteous and look down the others. When they pray they prayed like this “¹¹ The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.

¹² I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.” (Luke 18). In fact they try harder than others to live as clean as possible. But Jesus criticized them because the Spiritual leaders(Parisee) underestimates common saints. So in Proverbs 16:18 says “¹⁸ Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.”
Many heresy churches think they are the only right religion.

In addition in 1 peter 5:7-8 said “⁷ Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

⁸ Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: (1 Peter 5:7-8)”
2. Despair
secondly, if the pride makes people do things despair makes interference. Despair makes saints to depress and make them to stop something, this works on many people. Some people who beat pride can be beat by this tactics. Pride works people who think they are better, and despair works people who think they are bad. Many people around the world have tasted failure, when failings keep going on and on people easily fall into despair.
In Psalms there is a verse saying “Righteous will rise again after fall seven times.” Despair can lead you to suicide. But we have to understand make people despair is Satan’s tactics. Despair happens when you lost your faith but is happened to Moses or Peter or Elijah. The reason they overcome the despair was because God was with them!

Isaiah chapter 41 verse 10 says “^Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”

 

 3. Comparing

C S Luis said contemporary evil spirits seduce human by comparing. Comparing with others can make you either pride or despair. When you compare your husband with your friend’s if your husband makes more money you could fall into pride, in the opposite case you can be fall in to despair, so we shouldn’t compare.

Getting a good grade from school doesn’t guarantee success in the society, we need Jewish style teaching teach “something different” and in that way we can make many good human resources.

In John chapter 21 verse 22, Jesus saw peter who was trying to compare himself with John so he said “why do you compare, just follow me.” Galatian 6:4 said “But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another” So we only compare us with Jesus not anybody else, and see how close we are to Jesus..

4. Distrust and doubt
Doubt was trap Satan set up in Eve’s mind. Eve starting to doubt God and eventually she took the fruit. Doubt can be useful when it is used for the searching truth, but it is a huge obstacle for the saints’ faith, because doubt can lead saints to despair.

So, some people say “Doubt is a hell in human’s mind.” Doubt also breaks society’s unity.

In Matthew 14 Jesus walks on the water, then Peter asked him if he can do it too, Jesus allows him. At the beginning peter walks on the water then when peter saw the waves and wind then he got scared and he falls into water. Jesus saved him and ask him “why did you doubt?” We have to believe Jesus and never doubt Him.

Distrust causes problems; unhappy places are filled with distrust. A couple distrust each other, pastor and saints distrust each other, government and citizens distrust each other. There cannot be a miracles or unity where the distrust is.

5. Lie
Lies came from Satan and spread to the whole world. So, what is lie? Proverbs 6:16 says there are 6 to 7 things that God hates, one of them is lying tongue which is lie. The seriousness of lie, we can see it in ninth commandment “don’t lie about your neighbors.”

Because of the lie, human relationships are broken. one of the blessings of God to human is ability to talk. We can divide three types of human by watch their language styles. First, some people talks about others, making rumors, lie, which is low humans, secondly there are people talks about politics and arts they are middle class, and the top of the class, people talks about truth and live. We can see the characteristics of a person by judging one’s language style. We need to speak clean and true words.

 

6. Hate
The sixth tactics of Satan is hate. Hate doesn’t apply people you don’t know, it applies towards people who we close with. So some said hate is like step brother of love, not the opposite, opposite of love is ignorance. Because it is easy to go to love from hate but it is very hard to go to love from ignorance.

Murder cause by hates.

In the human history there were very few period that there was no war. The reason of wars is most of from hates. Hates spread like cold. So how can we deal with hate? It can only deal with biblical approach. When we see the cross, we can see it is looks like plus sign. In English at-one-ment means becoming one. Thus, by the cross we can be happy with other peoples. Without the cross there’s no way out from hating each other. Believe Jesus’s cross can solve problems among the people!

7. Complain
among the old testaments, the book of Numbers represent our society well. Numbers describes about Israel people’s life in the wilderness and we can see a lot of complains.

They complain about their thirst, bad road condition, wanted to eat some meats. In Numbers 11says “⁴ And the mixt multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat?

⁵ We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick:”

They never stop complaining and it became like a habit. When we see the contents of complain they complain not because the problem is big, they complain because they see only narrow things.

We sees thing in our point of view, when we see things by God’s point of view complains changes into thanks.

The condition of thank is believeing that what God gives me is the best.

8. Delay

The eighth tactic of Satan is delaying. Satan doesn’t want us to do good things. When we trying to do good things. So when we plan good works, Satan tries to delay it. At the beginning of the year, we decide to “I’m going to read bible more and pray harder” but Satan delays it. So we often spend a year just planning. We plan thing for tomorrow but Satan didn’t care, because he knows he can make it delay. So it is important to start things today right now! That’s why bible always states “now and today”

 
2 Corinthians 6:2 “(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)” and in Ephesians5:16 “Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”

We all want to success but success comes when we act, to people who are doing nothing opportunities just passing people. The opportunity of success comes who catches it.

So to success please don’t fall into Satan’s tactic of delaying things do it today.

9. Laziness

The ninth tactics of Satan is Laziness and Insincerity.
Satan always uses lazy people. When David seduced by Satan he was walk around the castle’s roof while his people went out to war. Benjamin Franklin said “Use honesty and diligent as you light, one diligent mind is stronger than 100 books.”

Like diligent is best friend of success, best friend of failure is insincerity. If lazy people got success, that won’t last long, but when diligent people fail they know it is the corner stone of success.

So, Psalm 37:3 said “Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.”

In the letter of Paul to Colossian he said “Don’t hide things but be diligent by fearing God.” Also in Psalm 31:23 says “O love the Lord, all ye his saints: for the Lord preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer.” Diligent creats happiness and success and help you to avoid Satan’s trap.

10. Hypocrites

The hypocrite is Satan’s favorite. Hypocrites mean you act different with what you have in your mind. Satan hates us to read bible or praying. When he cannot prevent it, hypocrite is the last weapon he uses. Read bible, go to church, do church works all by faking yourself. Here is where the saints like parishes come; they care more about their reputation in church than God.

 Jesus criticized Parishes not because they were evil and wicker than others; it was because they have no real (truth) in them while they were in position of religious leaders.

 Matthew 6:5 says “And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward..” and also in Matthew 23:25 Jesus blames Pharisees and said “Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess”

Hypocrite is like Yeast it doesn’t just stay but grows bigger and bigger, that is why hypocrite is worst poison for the saints. In 1 Peter 2:1 Peter said “Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,” So we shouldn’t fall Satan’s hypocrite but became strong saint with right way of exercising faith.

Conclusion

I hope and bless in Jesus name that we all to be a strong saint with right way of exercising faith, by beware Satan’s 10 tactics.
