디모데후서 1장 강해(복음을 부끄러워 말고 고난을 받으라)

 

서론)

디모데 후서 역시 사도 바울에 의해 디모데에게 보내진 편지 중 하나입니다. 디모데 전서를 보낼 때만해도 사도 바울이 로마 감옥에서 잠시 나와 마게도니아 지방에서 에베소 교회에 있는 디모데에게 편지를 보냈었는데 디모데 후서는 사도 바울이 다시 로마 감옥에 갇혀 있을 때에 보내진 것입니다. 디모데 전서는 대략 주후 63년경에 쓰여진 것이라면 디모데 후서는 그가 순교 당하기 직전 주후 66년 경에 쓰여진 것으로 보고 있습니다. 사도 바울이 67년경에 네로 황제에 의해 순교 당한 것으로 보기 때문에 디모데 후서는 사도 바울이 교회들에게 보낸 편지 중 가장 마지막 편지가 된다고 볼수 있습니다.

 디모데 전서와 디도서가 교회의 치리를 위한 ‘교리적인 편지’라고 한다면, 디모데 후서는 하나님 앞에 복음 선포의 사명을 부여받은 복음 사역의 일군으로서 갖추어야할 개인적인 영성과 인품을 다루고 있다는 것이 특징이라 하겠습니다. 특히 사도 바울이 혹 죽음을 눈앞에 두고? 사랑하는 동역자인 디모데에 대한 염려와 그의 목회생활을 격려하는 내용이 정감있게 묘사되어 있습니다. 디모데 후서는 모두 4장으로 된 편지인데, 1장과 2장에서는 디모데가 당하고 있는 현재의 시련에 대한 인내하도록 격려하고 있으며 3장과 4장에서는 앞으로 닥쳐올 시련을 인내하도록 격려하는 내용이 기록되어 있는 것입니다.

사도 바울이 이 편지를 쓰고 있을 때에는 로마 감옥에 두 번째로 갇힌 몸이고 많은 동역자들이 그의 곁에서 다 떠나버리고 오직 누가만 남아 있다고 불편한 심기를 가지고 있던 때입니다. 그리고 그가 늙어서 이젠 죽음을 눈앞에 두고 있는 외로운 처지에 있는 그에게 그의 제자이자 동역자인 디모데를 생각하므로 많은 위로가 되었습니다. 신실한 디모데가 바울에게는 너무나도 믿음직스러워 디모데를 생각할 때마다 하나님께 감사한다고 했습니다.

한편 하나님만 의지하며 확신을 갖고 신앙 생활을 하는 자들에게도 때로는 실망하고 맥이 풀어지는 경우가 있게 마련인 것입니다. 그런 때는 그 누군가에 의해 격려를 받으므로 다시 힘을 얻고 확신에 찬 신앙 생활을 회복하게 될 수 있는 것입니다. 디모데의 경우도 자기가 전적으로 의지하여 왔던 사도 바울이 감옥에 다시 갇히고 주변의 동역자들은 다 떠나가고 또 전도자의 사역에 따라다니는 많은 고난으로 인해 힘이 빠져 있었을 것입니다. 디모데의 현실을 잘 이해하고 있는 사도 바울은 오늘의 격려의 글을 디모데에게 보내 그를 격려하여 위축된 그의 마음이 다시 회복되도록 하고 있습니다. 복음을 전하는 전파자의 삶이란 하나님의 크신 뜻에 따라 맡겨진 사명이므로 이 사명을 감당하기 위해 모든 고난을 받고 잘 견디라고 격려하고 있습니다.

 

오늘 본문은 여섯 부분으로 나눌 수 있습니다.  [1]바울의 인사(1-2) [2]바울의 감사기도(3-5) [3]하나님의 은사에 대해(6-7)입니다. [4]복음과 함께 고난을 받으라(8) [5]복음을 지키라(9-14) [6]오네시보로를 선대하라(15-18) 등입니다.

 본론)

가) 인사

[1]먼저 1절과 2절의 바울과 디모데에 대해 함께 생각해 보겠습니다. 1절과 2절에서는 편지를 보낸

사도 바울 자신과 편지를 받는 디모데에 대해 언급하고 있습니다. 사도 바울은 주님께서 택하신 12제

자에 들지 않았다는 이유로 어떤 이들이 사도 바울을 두고 거짓 사도라며 사도 바울의 사도성을 부인하는 바람이 사도 바울이 전도하는 지역마다 따라다니며 사도 바울의 사역을 괴롭히기도 했습 니다. 이런 훼방을 문득 의식한 사도 바울은 자기의 사도직은 사람의 뜻에 따라 되어진 것이 아니라 하나님의 뜻으로 말미암아 된 것이며, 또한 그가 그리스도의 사도가 된 것은 영생을 얻게 하는 그리스도의 십자가의 약속으로 인해 된 것임을 밝히고 있습니다. 아울러 이 편지를 받는 디모데는 ‘사도 바울의 사랑 받는 아들’이라고 언급하고 있습니다.

 나)두 번째로 3절부터 5절까지의 바울의 감사 기도에 대해 살펴 보겠습니다.

사도 바울은 옥중에 있으면서도 디모데를 생각할 때마다 감사 기도를 드린다고 했습니다. 비록 옥중에 서 고난을 당하고 있지만 충성스런 디모데를 자기의 후계 동역 자로 세울 수 있었던 은혜를 생각하면 너무 하나님께 감사했다는 것입니다. 사도 바울은 디모데의 눈물을 생각하며 디모데를 보고 위로 받기 원한다고 쓰고 있습니다. 디모데가 사도 바울의 고난을 마음에 두고 눈물을 보이는 것은 그 역시 스승인 사도 바울을 지극히 존경하며 사랑한 증거이며 그의 다정다감한 성품을 짐작해 볼 수 있습니다.  사도 바울은 생각만 해도 위로가 될 수 있는 대상인 디모데가 있음 그 자체가 행복이요 감사였을 것입 니다.

사도 바울은 디모데의 청결한 양심과 거짓이 없는 순전한 믿음을 기억하고 칭찬하면서 그런 믿음과 믿음으로 다져진 인격이 그 어머니나 외할머니가 가졌던 믿음의 영향임을 확신했습니다.

다)6절부터 7절까지의 디모데가 안수받을 때 받은 하나님의 은사에 대해 생각해 보겠습니다.

우리들은 이 편지를 받은 그 당시의 디모데의 위치를 한번 상상해 볼 필요가 있습니다.

1)첫째는 자기가 절대적으로 의지하던 스승이 옥에 갇혀 계시고, 그가 이젠 나이뿐 아니라 어떤 형벌을 받게 될지도 예측할 수 없는 불안정한 상태임을 늘 염려 했으리라고 봅니다.  또 주변의 동역자들은 다 뿔뿔이 흩어졌고, 또한 디모데 본인은 나이가 젊고 경험이 없고 더더욱 육체적으로도 병약하고 성품도 다소 소심한 편이라 당시의 시련을 넉넉히 감당하기에는 힘겨운 상태였을 것입니다. 그런 디모데의 당시의 상태를 너무나도 잘 아는 사도 바울로서는 디모데를 격려하여 현재의 고난을 넉넉히 이겨내도 록 하는 힘을 주려는 의도의 글이 6절, 7절의 기록입니다.

 

사도 바울은 디모데가 전도자로서 안수받을 때에 충만했던 하나님의 은사가 다시 불일듯하게 하기 위해 안수받을 당시의 은사를 생각해보라고 격려하고 있습니다. 비록 지금은 환경상 힘이 빠지고 지쳐 있을 수 있겠지만 안수 받을 당시에 내리신 은사가 다시 회복된다면 어떤 시련도 넉넉히 이겨낼 수 있을 것으로 믿고 그 은사를 다시 회복되도록 해 보라는 것입니다. 결과적으로 하나님이 주신 은사는 두려워하는 마음이 아니라 능력과 사랑과 근신하는 마음이라고 했습니다. 하나님께서는 이미 시련을 이겨 낼 수 있는 능력(성령의 은사와 믿음의 담력 등)을 주셨고 남을 사랑할 수 있는 사랑과 어려움을 견디어 참아 낼 수 있는 근신의 은사를 주셨다는 의미입니다.

 

라) 8절의 복음과 함께 고난을 받으라에 대해

사도 바울이 복음을 전하던 때에는 지금과 달리 예수를 믿지 않은 사람들이 대부분이요 믿는 사람들은 극 소수였습니다. 그런 이유로 소수인 크리스챤들이 믿는 다는 것을 부끄럽게 생각할 수 있을 뿐 아니라, 사도 바울이 복음을 전하다 감옥에 갇혀 있으므로 사도 바울과 함께 일한 동역자 된 것도 부끄럽게 생각할 수도 있었을 것입니다. 바울 사도는 이런 환경에 처해 있었던 디모데에게 권하기를 죄인을 구원케 하는 능력인 복음을 부끄럽게 생각하지 말고 하나님이 주시는 능력을 힘입어 복음 때문에 찾아오는 모든 고난을 달게 받으라고 권면하였습니다.

 마)9절부터 14절까지의 ‘복음을 지키라’에 대해 함께 생각해 보겠습니다.

사도 바울은 복음이 무엇이며 하나님께서 맡기신 자기의 사명이 무엇인지를 디모데에게 소개하며 디모데가 사도 바울 자신을 본받아 귀한 사명을 감당하게 되도록 격려하고 있습니다. 사도 바울은 우리들이 죄 사함 얻어 구원받은 것은 우리의 행위가 착해서가 아니라 하나님의 뜻에 따라 하나님의 거룩하신 부름에 의해서 되어진 것이며 영원 전부터 그리스도 안에서 주시기로 예정하신 은혜로 되어진 것이라 했습니다. 예수 그리스도가 세상에 오심으로 그 하나님의 뜻이 이뤄지게 되었는데 그리스도께서는 복음을 통해 사망과 썩음을 폐하시고 영생의 길을 얻게 하셨다고 했습니다. 사도 바울은 영생의 길로 안내하는 이 복음을 위하여 반포자로, 사도로, 교사로 세우심을 받았다 했죠.

 사도 바울 자신은 복음을 전하는 직분을 전하다가 고난을 많이 당했지만 조금도 부끄러워하지 않았던 이유는 자기가 믿고 있는 그리스도가 누구신지를 너무나 잘 알고 또한 예수님께서 재림하실 때까지 자기의 구원과 자기가 해내야 할 사역을 온전히 지켜 주실 것을 확신하기 때문이라고 했습니다.

사도 바울은 자신처럼 디모데도 그리스도께서 허락하신 신뢰와 사랑을 가지고 바울로부터 전해받은 순수한 복음을 잘 지켜내고 또한 성령님의 도우심으로 진리의 복음과 맡은 바 사명을 지켜 나가라고 권면하였습니다.

 바)여섯 번째, 15절부터 18절까지의 오네시보로에 대해

 예수님께서 십자가를 지실 때에는 제자들 모두는 멀리 도망쳤고 오직 몇몇 여인들만 십자가 밑에서 그의 죽음을 바라보았던 것 같이, 사도 바울이 힘차게 일을 할 때에는 많은 협력자들이 그의 주변에 머물면서 도움을 주었지만 막상 사도 바울이 로마 감옥에 다시 갇히고 이젠 언제 어찌 될지 알 수 없었던 당시 환경에서는 그 협력자들이 모두 떠나갔다고 했습니다. 그러자 사도 바울은 매우 서운한 그의 마음을 드러내게 되었습니다. 사도 바울을 버리고 떠난 사람 중에 부겔로와 허모게네를 언급하고 있는데, 그들을 언급한 것을 보면 그들이 떠나 가면서 바울을 매우 서운케 한 듯합니다.

 그러면서 사도 바울은 ‘오네시보로’라는 형제의 희생적인 도움을 언급하면서 하나님께서 그와 그의 가정에 긍휼을 더욱 베풀어 주시기를 축복하고 있습니다. 특히 주님께서 오실 때에 주님께서 그의 가정에 긍휼을 베풀어주십사 거듭 축복하고 있습니다.

사도 바울이 오네시보로에게 감동을 받은 이유는 그가 사도 바울이 감옥에 갇히고 복음 전하는 일의 사도로 일하는 것을 전혀 부끄럽게 생각하지 않고 부지런히 감옥에 있는 사도 바울을 찾아와 돌보았 다는 것이었습니다. 어떤 사람은 복음 자체를 부끄러워하고 또 사도 바울이 옥에 갇힌 것을 부끄럽게 생각하여 다 도망쳤음에도 불구하고 ‘오네시보로’는 오히려 옥에 있는 사도 바울을 자주 돌아보았다고 하니 완전히 대조를 이루었다고 할 수 있습니다. 고로 이런 칭찬의 의도는 디모데가 오네시보로와 그의 의 가정에 특히 마음을 쓰고 살펴주고 선대하라는 권면으로 볼 수 있습니다.

 결론)

바울은 디모데에게 복음의 고귀하고 놀라운 구원과 영생을 주는 그 가치를 깨닫고 굳게 잘 지키라는 교훈을 줍니다. 복음이란 복된 소리입니다. 세상에 많은 좋은 소식이 있지만 좋은 소식 중 좋은 소식이 복음입니다. 복음이 왜? 좋은 소식 중 좋은 소식입니까? 하나님께서 창세 전부터 그리고 영원 전부터 예수 그리스도를 통해 주시려고 준비한 복된 소식이기 때문에 그렇습니다.

그러기 때문에 복음에 대한 가치를 계속 전하기 위해서는 온갖 고난을 감내해야만 헸습니다. 고난을 받으면서도 부끄러워하지 않고 오히려 자랑스럽게 여겨야 합니다.

‘오네시보로’는 바른 복음 때문에 받는 고난을 전혀 부끄럽게 생각하지 않고 오히려 고난 받는 사도 바울을 자주 찾아 자신의 믿음을 지키고 사도 바울에게 큰 힘이 되었습니다. 우리들도 바른 복음을 지키고 또한 바른 복음을 전파하는 자들에게 큰 격려와 힘이 되길 힘써야 합니다.

      2 Timothy 1:, Study (Do not be ashamed of the gospel, suffer)

Introduction)

2 Timothy is also one of the letters which sent to Timothy by the apostle Paul. Even when sending 1 Timothy, the Apostle Paul briefly left the Roman prison and sent a letter to Timothy in the church at Ephesus in Macedonia. While 1 Timothy was written about A.D. 63, 2 Timothy is believed to have been written around A.D. 66, just before his martyrdom. Since the apostle Paul is believed to have been martyred by Emperor Nero around AD 67, 2 Timothy can be seen as the last epistle of the apostle Paul to the churches.

 If 1 Timothy and Titus are 'doctrinal letters' for the governing of the church, the characteristic of 2 Timothy is that they deal with the personal spirituality and character that one must have as a member of the gospel ministry who has been given the mission of proclaiming the gospel before God. Especially when the apostle Paul was about to die? His concern for Timothy, his beloved co-worker, and his encouragement for his pastoral life are lovingly portrayed. 2 Timothy is a four-chapter letter, with chapters 1 and 2 encouraging Timothy to persevere in the trials he is facing, and chapters 3 and 4 encouraging him to endure the trials to come. there is.

When the Apostle Paul was writing this letter, it was the second time he was imprisoned in a Roman prison, and he had an uncomfortable feeling that many of his co-workers had all left him and only Luke was left. And thinking of Timothy, his disciple and co-worker, gave him a lot of comfort because he was old and was now in a lonely situation nearing death. Faithful Timothy was so faithful to Paul that he thanked God whenever he thought of him.

On the other hand, even those who depend only on God and lead a life of faith with confidence will sometimes be disappointed and lose their temper. In such a case, being encouraged by someone, you can regain strength and restore a confident life of faith. In the case of Timothy, too, the apostle Paul, whom he had completely relied on, was imprisoned again, and all his fellow co-workers left, and he must have been weakened by the many hardships that followed the work of the evangelist. The Apostle Paul, who understands Timothy's reality well, is sending today's message of encouragement to Timothy to encourage him so that his weakened heart can be restored. Since the life of an evangelist is a mission entrusted to us according to God's great will, we are encouraging them to endure all kinds of hardships in order to fulfill this mission.

[1] First, let's think about Paul and Timothy in verses 1 and 2. In verses 1 and 2, the letter

Although he was suffering in prison, he was so grateful to God for the grace he was able to raise as a co-worker in his successor, Timothy. The apostle Paul thinks of Timothy's tears and writes that he wants to see Timothy and be comforted. Timothy's tears in his heart over the sufferings of the apostle Paul is evidence of his great respect and love for the apostle Paul, who was also his teacher, and we can guess his tender nature. The Apostle Paul must have been happy and thankful to have Timothy, an object that can be comforted just by thinking about it.

The Apostle Paul remembered and praised Timothy's pure conscience and pure faith without lies, and was convinced that the faith and character built up by such faith was the influence of the faith that his mother or grandmother had.

[3] Let's think about the gifts of God from verses 6 to 7.

We need to imagine the position of Timothy at the time when this letter was received.

1) First, I think he must have always been concerned that the teacher he absolutely depended on is imprisoned and that he is in an unstable state that he cannot predict not only his age but also what kind of punishment he will receive. Also, all the co-workers around him were scattered, and Timothy himself was young and inexperienced, and even more physically weak and timid in nature, so it must have been a difficult state to bear the ordeal of his time. As the Apostle Paul who knew Timothy's condition very well, the writing in verses 6 and 7 is to encourage Timothy to give him strength to overcome the current hardships.

 

The Apostle Paul encourages Timothy to think about the gifts he had when he was ordained in order to rekindle the gift of God that was full when he was ordained as an evangelist. Even though you may be weak and exhausted from your environment right now, if the gifts you gave at the time you were ordained are restored, believe that you will be able to overcome any ordeal and try to restore those gifts again. As a result, he said that the gifts God has given are not a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. It means that God has already given us the ability to overcome trials, the love to love others, and the gift of self-control to endure hardships.

 

[4] About suffering along with the gospel in verse 8

Unlike now, when the Apostle Paul preached the gospel, most people did not believe in Jesus, and there were very few people who believed. For that reason, not only could you feel ashamed that a small number of Christians believe, but you might also feel ashamed of being a co-worker with the apostle Paul because he was imprisoned for preaching the gospel. The Apostle Paul exhorted Timothy, who was in such an environment, to not be ashamed of the gospel, which is the power to save sinners, but to sweeten all suffering that comes because of the gospel through the power that God gives.

 [5] Second, let’s think together about ‘keep the gospel’ in verses 9 to 14.

The Apostle Paul introduces to Timothy what the gospel is and his mission entrusted to him by God, and encourages Timothy to imitate the apostle Paul himself and fulfill his precious mission. The Apostle Paul said that we were saved by the forgiveness of sins, not because of our good deeds, but because of God's holy calling according to God's will, and by grace foreordained in Christ from eternity. Through the coming of Jesus Christ into the world, the will of God was accomplished. Through the gospel, Christ abolished death and corruption and made the way to eternal life. The Apostle Paul said that he was raised as a preacher, apostle, and teacher for this gospel that leads to eternal life.

 The Apostle Paul himself suffered many hardships while preaching the gospel, but he was not ashamed at all because he knew very well who the Christ he believed in was, and he knew his salvation and the work he had to do until Jesus came again. He said it was because he was sure that he would completely protect him.

The Apostle Paul exhorted Timothy, like himself, to keep the pure gospel transmitted from Paul with the trust and love that Christ allowed, and also to keep the gospel of truth and mission with the help of the Holy Spirit.

 [6] Sixth, about Onesiphorus from verses 15 to 18

 When Jesus was carrying the cross, all the disciples ran away and only a few women watched his death under the cross. When the apostle Paul was working hard, many co-workers stayed around him and helped him, but when the apostle Paul It is said that all of the collaborators had left in the circumstances of the time when they were again imprisoned in this Roman prison and now it was not known what was going to happen. The apostle Paul then revealed his very sad heart. Among those who left the Apostle Paul, he mentions Phukelo and Hermogenes, and the mention of them seems to make Paul very sad as they departed.

 At the same time, the Apostle Paul mentions the sacrificial help of a brother named ‘Onesiphorus’ and blesses God to show more mercy to him and his family. Especially when the Lord comes, the Lord has mercy on his family and paul blessing him again .

The reason why the apostle Paul was moved by Onesiphorus was that he did not feel ashamed at all that the apostle Paul was imprisoned and worked as an apostle in preaching the gospel, and he diligently visited and cared for the apostle Paul in prison. Some people were ashamed of the gospel itself and felt ashamed that the Apostle Paul was imprisoned, so even though they all ran away, ‘Onesiphorus’ rather frequently visited the Apostle Paul in prison, which is a complete contrast.

Paul instructs Timothy to realize and hold fast to the noble and wonderful value of the gospel that gives salvation and eternal life. The gospel is a blessed sound. There is a lot of good news in the world, but one of the good news is the gospel. Why is the gospel? Is it good news? This is because it is the good news that God prepared to give through Jesus Christ from before the foundation of the world and from eternity. That is why, in order to continue to spread the value of the gospel, we had to endure all kinds of hardships to be released. In spite of suffering, we should not be ashamed, but rather proud. ‘Onesiphorus’ is not at all ashamed of suffering because of the right gospel, but rather frequently visits the suffering apostle Paul to keep his faith and become a great strength to the apostle Paul. We, too, should be a great encouragement and strength to those who keep the right gospel and preach the right gospel.
