 서론)

마 5:에는 인생이 어떻게 살아야 하고 어떤 마음으로 살아야 복을 받는가에 대해 8가지가 기록되어 있습니다. 이것을 소위 “산상수훈”이라고도 하고 “팔복 강해”라고도 부릅니다. 오늘은 저는 특별히 여섯 번째 마음, 혹은  ‘청결한 마음의 복’에 대해 말씀을 나누고자 합니다. 본문에서 ‘청결’이라는 말은 희랍어에 ‘카다로스’라는 말인데…… 우리말로 번역하면 깨끗하다, 순수하다, 오염이 되어있지 않다는 뜻입니다. 즉 “마음이 순수하고 깨끗한 사람은 복이 있으니 저희가 하나님을 뵙게 된다”고 했습니다.

*출 30:12절 이하의 말씀을 보면, 하나님이 모세에게 나타나 말씀하시면서도 나를 보고 살 자가 없다. 죄 많은 인생이 전능하시고 완전하시고 영원불변하신 거룩하신 하나님 앞에 대면할 자가 없다고 하셨는데, 그럼에도 불구하고 예수님은 마음이 청결한 사람은 하나님을 본다고 말씀을 하셨으니, 이것은 무슨 의미로 하신 말씀일까요?

‘최낙중’이라 하는 목사님이 1986년도 7월에 시나이 반도에 있는 ‘시내산 꼭대기’에 올라가 본 일이 있으셨답니다. 그 목사님은 새벽 2시에 산에 올랐는데, 시나이 반도에서 바라보는 빛나는 별들은 왜 그렇게도 많은지, 그리고 별들이 손에 닿을 듯이 가까이 보이고, 거기에 은하수는 눈가루를 뿌려놓은 듯 너무나 황홀했다고 했습니다. 한국의 하늘은 안 그런데, 왜 시내산의 하늘의 별들은 그렇게 선명하게 보였을까요? 오염되지 않은 하늘이었기 때문이죠. 또 그 목사님이 태평양에 있는 사이판 섬의 바다에 가 보고 또 하와이라는 섬에도 가봤는데, 그 곳의 바다는 전혀 오염되지 않아 깊은 물 속이 그대로 보이고 커다란 고래가 헤엄치는 것까지 볼 수 있었다 했습니다. (한국의 서해안은 흙탕물! 10센티도 잘 안 보여요)

아무리 좋은 거울도 먼지가 많이 묻어 있거나 때가 잔뜩 묻어 있으면 사람의 모습을 제대로 비출 수 없습니다. 영적인 원리도 마찬가지입니다. 우리 마음이 순수하고 깨끗하고 오염되지 않고 그리스도 예수의 마음을 소유하면 우리도 하나님을 볼 수 있습니다.

 본론)

가)하나님을 뵙는다는 말의 의미는 무엇인가?

여기 두 가지 뜻이 있습니다. 1)하나는 우리는 육신을 입고 살아가는 동안 하나님을 볼 수 없습니다. 그러나 신앙인의 결국, 육신의 장막을 벗고 하나님 앞에 서는 날, 그 때는 얼굴과 얼굴을 대면하는 보는 것처럼 뵐 수 있습니다.

 

 요한1서 3:2-3절 = “사랑하는 자들아, 우리가 지금은 하나님의 자녀라. 장래에 어떻게 될 것은 아직 나타나지 아니하였으나, 그가 나타내심이 되면, 우리가 그와 같을 줄을 아는 것은 그의 계신 그대로 볼 것을 인함이니, 주를 향하여 이 소망을 가진 자마다 그의 깨끗하심과 같이 자기를 깨끗하게 하느니라고” 하였습니다. 우리가 예수 안에서 육신의 장막을 벗고 하나님 앞에 서는 날, 그 때는 하나님을 분명히 뵐 수가 있다 했습니다.

2)그리고 여기서 하나님을 볼 수가 있다는 말은 “ 하나님의 비밀을 계시를 통하여 알게 된다”는 뜻이기도 합니다.  사도 바울은 엡 1:17절 이하에서 “우리 주 예수 그리스도의 하나님, 영광의 아버지께서 지혜와 계시의 정신을 너희에게 주사 하나님을 알게 하시고, 너희 마음 눈을 밝히사 그의 부르심의 소망이 무엇이며, 성도 안에서 그 기업의 영광의 풍성이 무엇이며, 그의 힘의 강력으로 역사하심을 따라 믿는 우리에게 베푸신 능력의 지극히 크심이 어떤 것을 너희로 알게 하시기를 구하노라”라고 했습니다. 하나님의 비밀은 하나님의 드러내심, 곧 계시를 통해서 얼마든지 알 수 있습니다.

3)그런데 하나님을 우리에게 확실히 보여주는 계시는 보통 세 가지 방식이 있습니다.
a. 첫번째는 이미 기록된 신구약 성경 말씀이 하나님을 보여주는 계시입니다.

우리는 하나님을 보여주는 계시로 기록된 성경을 통해서 우주 만물이 하나님이 지으신 것이며, 인간은 하나님의 형상대로 지음을 받은 존재이며, 하나님의 아들 예수 그리스도께서 흘린 피가 우리 죄를 사해 주시며, 예수님만이 유일한 구주되심을 알게 된다고 했습니다.

b. 두번째, 두 번째는 꿈이나 환상입니다.

꿈이나 환상은 의로운 사람, 마음이 정직한 사람, 청결한 마음을 가진 자들에게 주로 나타나는 하나님의 계시의 방법입니다. 마태복음 1장에 ‘요셉’은 의로운 사람이라고 했습니다. 자기 약혼녀 마리아가 임신을 했음을 알게 되었습니다. 자기는 손도 한번 안 잡았는데…… 당연히 이별 선언을 하고 고소도 할 수 있는 상황입니다. 얼마나 속상하고 화가 났겠습니까? 그런데 요셉은 마음이 착한 사람이라 가만히 끊고자 합니다. 바로 그 날밤, 천사가 요셉에게 꿈에 나타나서 “네 아내 마리아에게 잉태된 자는 성령으로 잉태된 것이라. 그를 아내로 데려오라 하매, 꿈에 지시를 받은 대로 마리아를 데려왔다”고 했습니다.  

또 하나님의 계시는 환상으로도 나타납니다. 사도행전 16장=바울이 그의 2차 선교여행 중 ‘드로아’라고 하는 항구에서 기도하는데, 환상 중에 마게도니야 사람 하나가 나타나 손짓하면서 “건너와서 우리를 도와주세요” 하고 외치는 장면을 생생히 보게 됩니다. 환상을 본 후, 가만히 생각해보니, 하나님이 자기를 소아시아에서 전도하는 일을 멈추고, 우선 마게도냐, 즉 유럽으로 가라는 뜻임을 깨닫고, 아침 일찍 일어나 배를 타고 ‘빌립보’라고 하는 동네에 이르러 전도했는데 ‘루디아’라고 하는 여인의 마음을 열으사, 예수 믿게 하셨고 그 집을 거점으로 빌립보 교회가 탄생하게 되었습니다.

또 행 18장을 보면, 고린도 지역에 가서 전도할 때, 같은 동족인 유태인들이 전도를 심각하게 방해합니다. 바울의 사역을 훼방하고 대적합니다. 바울의 마음이 몹시 상했습니다. “어쩌면 내 하는 일을 도와주어야 할 동족의 위치에 있는 사람들이 하나님의 일을 방해하는가? 마음이 상해서 다시는 유대인들에게 전도하지 않아야 하겠다. 나는 이제 차라리 이방인에게로 가야겠다”, 그렇게 결심을 하고 그 날밤에 기도를 하는데, 환상 중에 예수께서 나타나셨습니다. 그리곤 말씀하시기를 “바울아, 두려워하지 말라. 내가 너와 함께 할 것이라. 이 성에는 구원을 받아야 할 사람이 많으니 떠나지 말고 좀 머물러 있으라. “하십니다. 그래서 결국 바울은 일년 육개월동안 머물면서 사역하여, ‘고린도교회’가 세워지기 된 것입니다.
고로 하나님을 사랑하고 그 뜻대로 살려고 하는 사람, 양심적으로 살고 순수하고 세속에 물들지 않고 청결하게 살아가는 사람에게 하나님은 자신을 드러내십니다.

 

나)청결한 마음을 위한 우선순위

우리가 결국은 천국에 이르러 하나님을 밝히 뵐 날이 올 것이지만, 우리가 이 세상에서 힘써야 될 것은 마음이 청결하도록 힘써야 합니다. 힘써야 할 일에 대해서는 무관심하고, 힘쓰지 않아도 될 일에 대해서는 목숨을 거는 것은 곧 우선순위가 바뀐 까닭입니다.

그러므로 청결한 마음을 소유코자 우리가 힘써야 할 것이 세 가지를 명심해야 합니다.
1) 첫째는 지난 날 하나님의 뜻을 따라 살지 못한 죄를 철저하게 회개하는데 힘써야 합니다. 왜 기도의 응답이 없을까? 이사야 59:1-2절 말씀을 보면, “여호와의 손이 짧아 구원치 못하심도 아니요 귀가 둔하여 듣지 못하심도 아니라, 오직 너희 죄악이 너희와 너희 하나님 사이를 멀어지게 했다”고 했습니다. 오늘날 우리는 하나님과 아주 가까운 사이, 친한 사이가 되어야 합니다.

렘 4:14절에도 “예루살렘아 네 마음의 악을 씻어 버리라. 그리하면 구원을 얻으리라. 네 악한 생각이 네 속에 얼마나 오래 머물겠느냐? 우리 속에 버려야 할 죄악의 쓴 뿌리가 있는데도 그것을 회개하기를 뒤로 미루겠느냐”라고 했습니다.

하나님께서 회개를 촉구하시는데도 회개하지 않으면 하나님이 진노의 징계가 있습니다.

이사야서 1:2절 이하=” 하늘이여 들으라. 땅이여, 귀를 기울이라. 여호와께서 말씀하시기를 내가 자식을 양육하였거늘 그들이 나를 거역하였도다. 소는 그 임자를 알고 나귀는 주인의 구유를 알건마는 이스라엘은 알지 못하고 나의 백성은 깨닫지 못하는도다 하셨도다. 슬프다! 범죄한 나라요 허물진 백성이요 행악의 종자요 행위가 부패한 자식이로다. 그들이 여호와를 버리며 이스라엘의 거룩한 자를 만홀히 여겨 멀리하고 물러갔도다. 너희가 어찌하여 매를 더 맞으려고 더욱 패역하느냐 온 머리는 병들었고 온 마음은 피곤하였으며, 발바닥에서 머리까지 성한 곳이 없이 상한 것과 터진 것과 새로 맞은 흔적 뿐이어늘 그것을 짜며 싸매며 기름으로 유하게 함을 받지 못하였도다.”라며 이사야 선지자가 부르짖었습니다. 내가 죄중에 있습니까? 오늘 회개하시길 바랍니다. 그래야 소망이 있습니다.

그래서 사도 베드로는 외쳤습니다. “너희가 각각 회개하여 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 침례를 받고 죄사함을 받으라. 그리하면 성령을 선물로 받으리니”라고 했습니다.

2) 두 번째 힘써야 할 것은 세속에 물들지 않기를 힘써야 한다고 했습니다.
다니엘은 소년 시절에 바벨론에 포로가 되어 끌려갔습니다. 바벨론 왕 ‘느부갓네살’은 총명하고 유능한 소년들을 3년 동안 특수 교육을 시킵니다. 다니엘과 세 친구도 뽑혔습니다. 갈대아 소년들과 함께 학교에서 공부하며 특별대우를 받습니다. 왕과 동일한 식사를 했습니다. 그러나 그 음식들은 우상 앞에 제사한 음식들인지라, 다니엘은 자신의 청결을 위해 왕의 진미와 포도주를 먹지 않기로 결심합니다. 그리고 자기들을 관리하는 환관장을 찾아가서 우리는 왕의 진미를 먹지 않게 해달라고 하니, 환관장이 놀라며 “너희들이 건강이 나빠지면 내 목이 위태롭도다. 그럴 수 없노라”라고 했더니, 다니엘이 “만일 우리 건강을 위한 것이라면 열흘동안 채식만 먹도록 시험해 보시고, 열흘 후에 우리 건강상태가 갈대아 소년들, 즉 왕의 진미를 먹는 다른 소년들보다 못하면…… 그때는 처분대로 하시옵소서.”라고 하여 허락을 받습니다. 열흘이 지난 후에 다니엘과 그 친구들의 건강이 왕의 진미를 먹는 갈대아 소년들보다 더 좋아져 왕의 진미를 먹지 않게 되었습니다. 우리가 하나님의 뜻대로 살기 위해서는 먹을 음식도 절제하여야 할 줄 믿습니다.

 

3)세 번째, 마음이 청결하기 위해서 하나님 앞에서 온전히 서기를 힘써야 합니다.
벧후 3:8절 이하 말씀=”사랑하는 자들아. 주께는 하루가 천 년 같고 천 년이 하루 같은 이 한 가지를 잊지 말라. 주의 약속은 어떤 이의 더디다고 생각하는 것같이 더딘 것이 아니라 오직 너희를 대하여 오래 참으사 아무도 멸망치 않고 다 회개하기에 이르기를 원하시느니라. 그러나 주의 날이 도적같이 오리니 그 날에는 하늘이 큰 소리로 떠나가고 체질이 뜨거운 불에 풀어지고 땅과 그 중에 있는 모든 일이 드러나리로다. 이 모든 것이 이렇게 풀어지리니 너희가 어떠한 사람이 되어야 마땅하뇨? 거룩한 행실과 경건함으로, 하나님의 날이 임하기를 바라보고 간절히 사모하라. 그 날에 하늘이 불에 타서 풀어지고 체질이 뜨거운 불에 녹아지려니와, 우리는 그의 약속대로 의의 거하는 바 새 하늘과 새 땅을 바라보도다. 그러므로 사랑하는 자들아! 너희가 이것을 바라보나니, 주 앞에서 점도 없고 흠도 없이 평강 가운데서 (하나님 앞에서)나타나기를 힘쓰라”고 했습니다.

결론)

우리가 힘써야 할 일이 무엇입니까? 하나님의 일을 하겠다고 힘쓰기 전에, 하나님 앞에서 바른 사람되기 위해서 기도하고 힘써야 된다는 것입니다. 하나님은 우리에게 말씀하십니다. “어떤 일을 하는 사람이 되기 전에 순수한 마음부터 가져라. 깨끗한 양심을 가져라. 청결한 마음을 가져라. 욕심을 버리라. 탐심은 우상이다. 가난하고 병들고 소외 당한 사람들을 돌아보라. 이것이 하나님 앞에서 참된 경건이요, 청결한 마음 갖는 것이 바로 나 여호와가 가장 먼저 원하시는 것이라” 고 하십니다. 저와 여러분 모두, 이런 음성을 들으실 수 있는 이 시간이 되시기를 간절히 바라고 축원합니다.

이제 저는 다윗이 쓴 시편 24편 3~6절 말씀을 소개하며 오늘 말씀을 마치겠습니다.
“여호와의 산에 오를 자 누구며 그 거룩한 곳에 설 자가 누군고? 곧 손이 깨끗하며 마음이 청결하며 뜻을 허탄한 데 두지 아니하며 거짓 맹세치 아니하는 자로다. 저는 여호와께 복을 받고 구원의 하나님께 의를 얻으리니(의롭다 인정을 받으리니), 이는 여호와를 찾는 족속이요, 야곱의 하나님의 얼굴을 구하는 자로다.” 아멘!

Blessings of the pure in heart (Matthew 5:1-10)

 

1 Seeing the crowds, he(Jesus) went up on the mountain, and when he sat down, his disciples came to him.

2 And he opened his mouth and taught them, saying:

3 "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

4 "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.

5 "Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.

6 "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.

7 "Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.

8 "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.

9 "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.

10 "Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

 

  Introduction)

In Matthew 5: there are eight things written about what life should be like to be blessed. This is also called the “Sermon on the Mount” or the “Exposition of the Beatitudes.” Today I especially have the sixth heart,

In other words, I would like to talk about ‘the blessings of a pure heart.’ The word ‘cleanliness’ in the text is ‘kadaros’ in Greek… … Translated into Korean, it means clean, pure, and unpolluted. In other words, “Blessed are the pure and pure in heart, for they will see God.”

* Looking at the words of Exodus 30:12 and below, God appeared to Moses and spoke to him, but he did not see me and live. Jesus said that no one can face the omnipotent, perfect, eternal, and unchanging holy God of sinful life. Nevertheless, Jesus said that those who are pure in heart will see God. What does this mean?

 

A pastor named ‘Choi Nak-jung’ climbed to the top of ‘Mount Sinai’ on the Sinai Peninsula in July 1986. The pastor climbed the mountain at 2 in the morning, and he said that the shining stars seen from the Sinai Peninsula were so many, that the stars seemed so close that one could touch them, and that the Milky Way was so magical that it looked like it had been sprinkled with snow powder. The sky in Korea is not like that, so why did the stars in the sky of Mt. Sinai look so clear? Because it was an unpolluted sky. Also, the pastor said that he went to the sea of Saipan in the Pacific Ocean and also to the island of Hawaii. The sea there was not polluted at all, so you could see deep water and even see large whales swimming. (The west coast of Korea is muddy!)

No matter how good a mirror is, it cannot reflect a person's image properly if it is dusty or dirty. The same applies to spiritual principles. If our hearts are pure, clean, unpolluted, and have the mind of Christ Jesus, we too can see God.

 

  Main subject)

a) The meaning of seeing God

There are two meanings here. 1) First, we cannot see God while we live in the flesh. However, at the end of the life of a believer, when the veil of the flesh is taken off and we stand before God, we will be able to see Him face to face.

 

  1 John 3:2-3 = “Beloved, we are now children of God. It does not yet appear what will be. But we know that when he appears, we will be like him, because we will see him as he is. Everyone who has this hope in the Lord purifies himself, just as he is pure. ” I did. It is said that the day we take off the veil of the flesh and stand before God, then we will be able to see God clearly.

 

2) And here, being able to see God also means “knowing the secrets of God through revelation.” Apostle Paul says in Ephesians 1:17, “The God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, will give you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him, and enlighten the eyes of your heart to see what the hope of his calling is; “I pray that you may know what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the mighty operation of his power.” God's secrets can be known through God's revelation, that is, revelation.

 

3) However, there are usually three revelations that clearly show us God.

a. The first is the revelation of God through the already recorded words of the New and Old Testament.

Through the Bible, written as a revelation that shows God, we learn that all things in the universe were created by God, that humans are beings created in the image of God, that the blood shed by Jesus Christ, the Son of God, forgives our sins, and that only Jesus can He said he would come to know that He is the only Savior.

 

b. Second, the second is a dream or fantasy.

Dreams and visions are a way of God's revelation that mainly appears to righteous people, honest people, and those with pure hearts. In Chapter 1 of the Gospel of Matthew, ‘Joseph’ is said to be a righteous man. He discovered that his fiancée Maria was pregnant. He didn't even hold his hand once... … Of course, this is a situation where you can declare a breakup and file a lawsuit. How upset and angry would you be? However, Joseph is a kind-hearted person and wants to quietly hang up. That very night, an angel appeared to Joseph and said, “The child that was conceived in Mary your wife was conceived by the Holy Spirit. “He did not take seed from any man, so he said, ‘Take her to your wife.’ So he took Mary, as he had been instructed in his dream.”

Also, God's revelation appears as an illusion. Acts 16 = While Paul was praying at a port called ‘Troas’ during his second missionary journey, he vividly saw in a vision a Macedonian man appear, beckoning, and shouting, “Please come over and help us.” After seeing the vision, I thought about it and realized that God meant for me to stop evangelizing in Asia Minor and go to Macedonia, that is, Europe first. So I got up early in the morning, got on a boat, and went to a town called Philippi to preach. 'He opened the heart of this woman, made her believe in Jesus, and the Philippian church was born based on that house.

 

In Acts 18, when he went to the Corinth area to evangelize, his fellow Jews seriously interfered with his evangelism. They slander and oppose Paul’s ministry. Paul's heart was very broken. “Maybe people who are in a position to help me with my work are interfering with God’s work? I am so offended that I will never preach to the Jews again. “Now I would rather go to the Gentiles,” he decided. He prayed that night, and Jesus appeared in a vision. Then he said, “Paul, do not be afraid. I will be with you. There are many people in this city who need to be saved, so don’t leave. Stay a while. “He does. So in the end, Paul stayed and worked for a year and six months, and the ‘Corinthian Church’ was established.

Therefore, God reveals Himself to those who love God and try to live according to His will, who live conscientiously, and who are pure and uncontaminated by the world.

 

B) Priorities for a clean mind

The day will come when we will eventually reach heaven and see God clearly, but what we must strive for in this world is to strive to be pure in heart. Being indifferent to things that require effort and risking one's life for things that do not require effort is because priorities have changed.

 

Therefore, we must keep in mind three things that we must strive for.

1) First, we must strive to thoroughly repent of our past sins of not living according to God’s will. Why is there no answer to prayer? Isaiah 59:1-2 says, “The hand of the Lord is not too short that it cannot save, nor is His ear too dull that it cannot hear, but your iniquities have put a distance between you and your God.” Today we must be very close and intimate with God.

 

Jer 4:14 also says, “Wash away evil from your heart, O Jerusalem. Then you will be saved. How long will your evil thoughts remain within you? “We have bitter roots of sin within us that need to be thrown away, but will we put off repenting for them?”

If you do not repent even when God calls you to repent, God will discipline you with His wrath.

Isaiah 1:2ff = “Hear, O heaven. Earth, listen! I have brought up my children, says the LORD, but they have rebelled against me. He said, “The ox knows its owner, and the donkey its master’s manger, but Israel does not know, and my people do not understand.” sad! It is a sinful nation, a broken people, a seed of iniquity, a child of corrupt conduct. They have forsaken the LORD and have despised the Holy One of Israel; they have turned away and retreated. Why do you rebel even more so that you may receive more beatings? Your whole head is sick, your whole heart is tired, and from the soles of your feet to your head there is no sound, only bruises, tears, and marks of fresh blows. They are wrung out and bandaged and oiled. “I did not receive it,” cried the prophet Isaiah. Am I in sin? I hope you repent today. Only then can there be hope.

So Apostle Peter cried out: “Repent, every one of you, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. “Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”

 

2) The second thing to strive for is to strive not to be stained by the world.

Daniel was taken captive to Babylon during his boyhood. Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, gives powerful and capable boys special education for three years. Daniel and his three friends were also selected. He studies at school with Chaldean boys and receives special treatment. He ate the same meal as the king. However, because the food was sacrificed to idols, Daniel decided not to eat the king's delicacies and wine for his own purity. Then, they went to the chief eunuch who was in charge of them and asked that we not be allowed to eat the king's delicacies. The chief eunuch was surprised and said, “If your health deteriorates, my neck will be at risk. Daniel said, "If it is for our health, try eating only vegetarian food for ten days. What should we strive for? Before striving to do God's work, you must pray and strive to become a righteous person before God. God speaks to us. “Before you become someone who does something, have a pure heart. Have a clear conscience. Have a pure heart. Give up your greed. Covetousness is an idol. Look at the poor, sick, and marginalized people. “This is true godliness before God, and having a pure heart is what the Lord desires first.” I sincerely hope and pray that all of you and I will be able to hear this voice.
